The 905:  1914 - 2000

905 - Mid 1940s

About 1945, Waurika, OK, pulling a passenger train. Heading north back to El Reno, OK. Note: it is still using coal, contrary to reports of no coal west and south of Kansas City.

Last Days

1953: Blue Island, Ill. Rock Island yard.

Mothballed

1954, Mothballed at Blue Island, Ill. Only 3 Rock Island 4-6-2s still in existance. Notice 905 has been cannibalized.

Moving Day

Oct. 1954, Duncan, OK. Moving from railhead to Fuqua Park down Oak Street. Track was leap-frogged. Boiler pumped to 60 psi with Air.
